मिथिला की लोक संस्कृति मे नैना जोगिन नव वर-वधुओं को उन अनिष्टकारी शक्तियों एव बुरी नजरों से बचाने के निमित्त नव वर वधु के प्रथम शयन कक्ष (कोबर घर ) के चारो कोने मे चित्रित किया जाता है , जिनके प्रभाव मे आ एक नव - वर वधु के आपसी प्रेम और गृहस्थ जीवन मे समस्या पैदा होती हैं । इस तरह देखा जाय तो इस नैना जोगिन को साड़ी पर चित्रत कर मिथिला का लोक कलाकार का उद्देश इस साड़ी को पहनने वाली स्त्री के सुखी गृहस्थ आश्रम की कामना है ।
